BBQ & Pie

I am lying here on my couch completely satisfied by my dinner that I ate in the back courtyard of PJ's Coffee on Magazine (at Octavia.) Rob and Amy from NOLA Smokehouse were out and about again offering BBQ plates of either brisket burnt ends or pulled pork, which came with corn spoonbread (quite possibly my favorite thing they make) and remoulade potato salad. And homemade pickles. Oh! Those pickles.

Anyway, it should go without saying that everything was awesome. I have always enjoyed NOLA Smokehouse's food and I miss eating it on a regular basis! Oh, there was also pie, provided by the NOLA Pie Guy. He had several kinds available: Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Key Lime.... but the one that we both ended up getting was called Dark & Stormy. Chocolate pie (yum) made with Old New Orleans Rum 3-year amber (YUM) with fresh whipped cream that Gingeroo was added to (OMG!!!) Yeah, it was just as good as it sounds if not better.
