Done and done! It took about five minutes, and I now am fully certified to drive my Louisiana-registered car on the streets of New Orleans. And everywhere else, I imagine.
While on the subject of driving in New Orleans, I will note that New Orleans drivers are pretty crappy. (And now I'm one of them!) Sometimes folks will just go right through red lights and no one stops for pedestrians. However, on the plus side, people don't use their horn, which is a relief. You can't get up to any rapid speed though, because the roads are in horrible condition- they can't even blame it on frost heaves. There's some tailgating, but folks are generally not aggressive in their driving.
I drive a lot here, and it's a lot less stressful than driving around in Massachusetts. Like by a factor of 10.
